I have already run dell support assist numerous timesįirefox seems to crash a lot, especially with videos/youtube for the aforementioned reasons (linked to audio startup delay). Worryingly I don't have the AMD model of my computer so I am not sure why that is in the name - I downloaded it from the dell website using my service tag. I have a feeling there is more than one instance of waves maxxaudio installed on my computer, for example in "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" there are about four folders beginning with waves for example "wavesapo9de.inf_amd64_b2ae1335863dd30f" and "wavesapo9de.inf_amd64_e99a314c3593d5e7".

I have a feeling no one really thought the whole situation through as the compatibility between the drivers seems to be non existent. Ideally all I want though is just to not have a delay/crash whenever I try to play audio. Realtek seems to be much older and more robustly made whereas maxxaudio is an awful microsoft store webapp which forces terrible EQs down your ears. There are two different drivers available: Realtek and Waves Maxxaudio. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers a couple times now and it is such a stressful ordeal that I would hate to have to do it again. I have strong suspicions that it is either drivers/windows power management causing this issue I am using the 3.5mm audio output with a headphone/microphone splitter I'll give some more background information: It is unbelievably annoying, I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar and has any ideas how to fix. Once audio is playing, for example if I have music playing in the background then any other audio will play fine with no delay, the buffering/crashing only seems to happen when audio is starting up from silence. Recently something else has started happening - whenever I go from silence to playing audio for example starting a youtube video, playing a video in VLC or testing the volume level in the bottom right there is about a 5-10 second period where the application crashes/freezes/buffers in silence before the video and audio start. Waves Maxxaudio is the worst audio driver I have ever seen, and audio has been a constant issue. I have an XPS 13 (9310) running Windows 10.
